The Millbrook varsity hockey program plays an extremely competitive 32-game schedule in the New England Prep School Ice Hockey Association. The team plays in three tournaments throughout the year: The Brooks School Tournament, The Belmont Hill-Nichols Tournament, and the Empire Cup (co-hosted with Trinity-Pawling).

In our recruiting process we seek out student athletes who are serious about becoming part of a community where they will be more than simply hockey players. Being a member of the Millbrook community means pushing oneself in the classroom, being a leader in the community, and carrying oneself with dignity while treating others with respect.

The Millbrook hockey mission statement:

1) To challenge each one of our student athletes to go beyond their comfort zone in order to reach their full potential both as an athlete and as a person.

2) To develop each player’s character and to give each player the tools, both on and off the ice, to be successful in college and beyond.

3) To emphasize skill development and to deepen each player’s knowledge of the game.

4) To help prepare each of our student athletes to play at the college level, whether it be at the Division I or the Division III level.

The Millbrook hockey program is led by head coach Vincent Sorriento. A Millbrook graduate (1996), Coach Sorriento has been the head coach at Millbrook since 2009. In addition to coaching hockey, Coach Sorriento serves as the director of athletics at Millbrook. Coach Sorriento lives on campus with his wife and four children.

Bio
A graduate of SUNY Cortland in 2001, Coach Sorriento took over the boys program in the fall of 2009. Prior to Cortland, Coach Sorriento played in the EJHL for the New Hampshire Monarchs, and graduated from Millbrook in the spring of 1996.

In addition to being the head hockey coach, Coach Sorriento also teaches math and is the director of residential life at Millbrook. He and his wife, Caitlin, have four children - Anthony, Sophia, Rocco, and Mia - and live on campus.
Coach: Jonathan Sokolski

Bio
Coach Sokolski joined the varsity hockey staff in 2014 after graduating from Tufts University. He played hockey at Canterbury and Tufts, where his career was shortened by injury. He remained part of the program as a student assistant coach in charge of video analysis and strength & conditioning. Coach Sokolski lives in Case dorm and also coaches soccer and lacrosse.

Bio
Coach Vanecek joined the Mustangs hockey program in the winter of 2012 and contributed to their first season qualifying for the New England Tournament. He is a graduate of St. Lawrence University, where he played hockey for the Saints, and Trinity Pawling, where he captained his high school hockey team his senior year. He also played baseball and ran cross-country to become a tri-varsity letterman for T-P. He lives in nearby Wassaic with his wife, Deborah, and four step-children, Madison, Kayla, Tyler, & Dylan.
