How to Apply

7 Easy Steps to Apply to Millbrook School

1 Complete our online inquiry form.
2 Arrange a Zoom interview with an admission officer
Contact the admission office, admissions@millbrook.org, to arrange a Zoom interview with a member of the admission team. The zoom interview will last about an hour and includes a student interview followed by a parent/guardian interview (at least one parent/guardian should be available). Please note, if you are a student residing and attending school in mainland China you must submit a preliminary interview with Vericant before booking an interview with a Millbrook admission officer. All candidates must submit their Vericant interviews by December 15 for consideration for the current application year. For more information about how Millbrook uses Vericant interviews, please click here. To book your Vericant interview please contact Vericant directly.
3 Schedule a virtual tour with a current student
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, campus tours have been suspended for the time being, but we have created opportunities for prospective families to see the campus through HD video footage and to ask questions of student tour guides. During the virtual tour, prospective students and their parents will be “walked” through Millbrook’s campus with a current Millbrook student on Zoom. The tour and interview will be scheduled at different times, ideally within 48 hours of each other. Please be prepared to arrange times for both the tour and interview when you contact our admission office.
4 Register for the appropriate test

Millbrook School will be test-optional for students applying for admission for the 2021-2022 school year. If you choose to submit a test score, please register to take the SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test) through the SSAT website or by phone (609-683-4440). Millbrook's SSAT code is 5092. Millbrook also accepts the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam), PSAT, SAT, and ACT. Millbrook will accept standardized test scores taken in previous school years.

Schedule a language-proficiency test if English is not your first language.
All students, for whom English is not their first language, are required to take the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), IELTS, or DuoLingo test. Millbrook's TOEFL code is 0851. Please contact the Admission office at admissions@millbrook.org if you are unable to take one of these tests due to the pandemic.
5 Complete the application
Millbrook will accept either the SSAT Standard Application Online or the Gateway Application Online. Please note that we prefer the SSAT Standard Application Online. The application deadline is January 15th.
6 Ask for References Early (but not before November 30th)
See either the SSAT Standard Application Online or the Gateway To Prep Schools online application for instructions on getting the recommendation forms to your teachers.
7 Complete the Financial Aid Application
If you are applying for financial aid, please notify the Admission Office and review the instructions for that process here. Completion of the Parents’ Financial Statement (click here) and submission of current tax information are requirements of the process. Financial aid applications are due by January 31st.
8 Notifications
To be considered for an admission decision on March 10th (the common notification date for boarding schools), all components of the application must be received by January 15th. All candidates and their parents will be emailed a Millbrook School website user name. Please regularly check the email accounts that you provide to our admission office. Your Millbrook School log on credentials will allow you to view important information, learn about upcoming events, receive official notes from the Millbrook School Admission Office, and check the progress of your application. When you log on for the first time, you will be directed to set up your password. Please feel free to contact Diane Massarone (dmassarone@millbrook.org) if you have any questions about your username. Decisions will be posted to your Millbrook website account and will also be mailed on March 10th. We ask that families let us know of their intention to enroll before April 10th with a signed contract and enrollment deposit. Admitted students will have the opportunity to return to campus for our re-visit program in early April. Millbrook will accept applications on a rolling basis throughout the spring, subject to availability of space.

DuoLingo English Test

Millbrook will now be accepting the DuoLingo English test as part of the application process.
