Millbrook Singers

Millbrook Singers is an elite co-ed a cappella group comprised of 16 students under the direction of Millbrook's Vocal Music Director Joe Raciti. The group rehearses weekly to learn and master songs and improve their vocal abilities. They study multiple music genres, ranging from twenty-first-century pop songs to classic choral compositions.

They perform for our Millbrook School community and for audiences outside of campus. In the Spring of 2016, the group traveled to Vienna, Austria where they studied with local students and professional musicians, as well as performed.

Millbrook Singers work under the “one voice” philosophy to achieve the best tonal range for their diverse song collection. At the beginning of each academic year, Mr. Raciti facilitates an extensive audition process where about 8% of those who audition are invited to join the singing group. Even current members must re-audition in an effort to keep the integrity of the group's "one voice" mission.

Mr. Raciti, who received his masters of music education from the Boston Conservatory, brings diverse music experience to the Holbrook Arts Center. Prior to coming to Millbrook, he instructed after-school music programs with Wingspan Arts and taught private piano lessons in New York City, directed the vocal music program at Marvelwood School, and wrote his own musical while in college.

Begun as a student club, Millbrook Singers has transformed into a competitive vocal group. These dedicated young artists are pursuing ambitious and exciting goals, including entering nationwide competitions and traveling globally to perform.
