Julia Heffernan (she/they) didn't take a straight path to get to where she is today.
As a student at Millbrook, Julia discovered an early love of making things in the art center, and that passion has stuck with her ever since. She went on to study at the Gallatin School at NYU, a good fit for those unsure of what career to pursue.

After college, Julia worked at startups like Vimeo and GroupMe before pivoting to freelance illustration, designing emojis for brands including Comedy Central, The Washington Post, Microsoft, and Sephora. Her personal artwork has also been shown at Tachi Gallery in New York City and Art Basel Miami.
In 2020, Julia made another big change: she used her creativity to help people directly by becoming a creative arts therapist. Today, she works with kids, teenagers, and young adults, specializing in neurodivergence and queer identity exploration. She enjoys using art as a tool to help clients express themselves and navigate their world.
In her free time, Julia paints, draws, and works in pottery.
