CES - Evan '25

I Wrote a Research Paper and Got it Published

Evan, a varsity athlete and published science researcher, merged his passions in his CES project, inspired by a summer internship at a physical therapy clinic.

There, he became interested in aiding those with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). After reviewing numerous studies, he identified microRNA therapy as a possible way to reverse DMD. With guidance from Stanford’s Mark Z. Jacobson and Millbrook’s Dr. Timothy Kernan, he produced a meta-analysis—"Therapeutic Potential of microRNA-29 in Combating Collagen Fibrosis-Induced Skeletal Muscle Atrophy"—published in the American Journal of Student Research in February 2025.
