How to Apply

Seven Easy Steps to Apply to Millbrook School

1 Complete our online inquiry form.
2 Schedule a virtual tour with a current student and an optional in-person tour on campus
Millbrook is also pleased to offer the option for a socially-distanced campus tour for families who have completed the virtual interview and scheduled or completed a virtual tour. A campus tour is not required for the application process but can serve as an important complement to your virtual exploration process. All campus visits must be arranged through the admission office and in accordance with New York State travel guidelines. To see those guidelines, please click here.

To get more information about the campus tour, please click here or email admissions@millbrook.org.

3 Consider Standardized Testing Options
Millbrook School will be test-optional for students applying for admission for the 2022-2023 school year. If you choose to submit a test score, please register to take the SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test) through the SSAT website or by phone (609-683-4440). Millbrook's SSAT code is 5092. Millbrook also accepts the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam), PSAT, PACT, SAT, and ACT. Millbrook will accept standardized test scores taken in previous school years.

Schedule a language-proficiency test if English is not your first language.
Millbrook School does not offer ESL courses and requires that students, for whom English is not their first language, submit an English-proficiency test as a part of their application. Students can submit a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), IELTS, or DuoLingo test as a part of their application. Millbrook's TOEFL code is 0851. Please contact the Admission Office at admissions@millbrook.org if you have questions or difficulty completing this portion of the application.
4 Complete the Application
Millbrook will accept either the SSAT Standard Application Online or the Gateway Application Online. Please note that we prefer the SSAT Standard Application Online. The application deadline is January 15.
5
Ask for References Early (but not before November 30)
Millbrook requires recommendations from your math teacher, English teacher, and guidance counselor/advisor/head of school. You can access the recommendation forms through either the SSAT Standard Application Online or the Gateway To Prep Schools online applications.
6
Complete the Financial Aid Application
If you are applying for financial aid, please notify the Admission Office and review the instructions for that process here. Completion of the Parents’ Financial Statement (click here) and submission of current tax information are requirements of the process. Financial aid applications are due by January 31.
7 Notifications
To be considered for an admission decision on March 10 (the common notification date for boarding schools), all components of the application must be received by January 15. All prospective students and their parents will be able to track the progress of their application and receive decision updates through the Millbrook portal. Once you submit your application, Millbrook will email you with your Millbrook portal username and a temporary password. Please regularly check the email accounts that you provide to our admission office and your Millbrook Portal regularly to view important information, learn about upcoming events, receive official notes from the admission office, and check the progress of your application. Please contact Diane Massarone (dmassarone@millbrook.org) if you have any questions about your Millbrook portal account. Decisions will be posted to your Millbrook portal and will also be mailed on March 10. We ask that families let us know of their intention to enroll before April 10th with a signed contract and enrollment deposit. Admitted students will have the opportunity to return to campus for our re-visit program in early April.

LATE APPLICATIONS
After January 15, Millbrook will accept applications on a rolling basis throughout the spring, subject to the availability of space. If you wish to submit an application outside of the regular timeline, please contact the admission office directly, admissions@millbrook.org.
