Athletic Training

Millbrook School employs two full-time athletic trainers—one resides on campus. The athletic trainer is a healthcare professional who collaborates with the Miller Brown Health Center to optimize the activity and participation of student-athletes.
Athletic trainers provide the following care for the student body to allow students to function optimally on and off the athletic field:
  • injury prevention
  • recognition and evaluation of injuries
  • management and treatment of injuries
  • injury rehabilitation
  • organization and administration
  • education
Athletic trainers also determine safe levels of participation and appropriate return to play guidelines. Athletes who are not able to participate in practices or contests are encouraged to engage in a rehabilitation program under the direct supervision of the athletic trainer.

Love Your Brain Foundation is a non-profit organization that aims to improve quality of life for people affected by brain injury. Love Your Brain is a social movement that brings people together to connect, educate, and empower. In December of 2016, Millbrook welcomed professional snowboarder and co-founder of the Love Your Brain Foundation, Kevin Pearce, to campus. During his visit, Kevin spoke to our student body about his personal experience with Traumatic Brain Injuries. Since then, our Girls Varsity Hockey Program and community have continued to raise awareness about traumatic brain injuries through our support and connection to the Foundation.
