Patricia Smith '17
Current Law School Student, Former Athletic Trainer
Patricia Smith earned her undergraduate degree in athletic training from the University of Alabama and later earned her master’s degree in sports administration from Tulane University. She is currently pursuing her J.D. at Fordham University School of Law.

Patricia has gained extensive experience working with elite athletic organizations, including Alabama football, Tulane football, the Indianapolis Colts, and IMG Academy. In these roles, she has supported a range of sports medicine functions, including injury prevention, evaluation, clinical management, and rehabilitation, and various orthopedic surgeries such as ACL reconstructions, pectoralis repairs, and Achilles tendon repairs.

This summer, Patricia will continue her professional development in the legal field by working with a New York State court judge. In this role, she will conduct legal research, draft proposed decisions, prepare case summaries, and provide legal analysis of issues arising specifically in child abuse and neglect proceedings. She will also observe court hearings and conferences, assist chambers in reviewing pleadings and case records, and help prepare materials for court proceedings.

At Millbrook, Patricia further developed the values that continue to guide her path, particularly integrity, service, and respect. These principles were instilled early in her life and profoundly shaped by her mother, New York City Police Officer Moira Ann Smith, who lost her life responding to the attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Her mother’s courage, empathy, and unwavering commitment to others continue to inspire Patricia’s approach to both her work and her life.
