Mustangs Drop Home Opener to Strong Suffield Hitting

The Millbrook Mustangs welcomed Suffield Academy for our home opener. Despite rain throughout warm-ups, the weather held off during game time.

Millbrook continued to be aggressive at the plate, but strong pitching from Suffield kept the Mustangs at bay offensively. 

Suffield’s bats were consistent throughout the game, with solid contact. A defensive play to highlight came from a heads-up out from freshman trio Meghan Abbate ‘29, Sydney Goodrich ‘29, and Joiee Downs ‘29. Abbate fielded a hard-hit groundball on the mound with a runner on third and threw to Goodrich behind the plate, who then ran the Suffield runner back to third before making the throw to Downs for the tag.
