Warner Gallery Features Exhibit by Devin Hardy '08

Resilience, an exhibit by Devin Hardy ’08, will be on display in the Holbrook Art Center’s Warner Gallery through August 20th. The exhibit includes mixed media artwork created with found objects.
In a recent interview with The Millbrook Independent, a local Millbrook newspaper, Hardy stated that her aim is to “revive, and give new life to discarded items.” The items act as Hardy’s canvas, which are then physically sculpted and accented with oil paints, creating magnificent collages. In her artist's statement Devin gives life to each piece she creates, "My aim is to embolden these objects, to allow them to claim their history. By combining them with my paintings and my mark-making, these objects are both enhanced by and enhance my work; collaboration with discoloration."

Devin attended Bowdoin College, majoring in Environmental Studies and Fine Arts. Since graduating from Bowdoin in May of 2013, she has gone to work for Vincent Vallarino Fine Art managing his Millbrook studio and gallery. Mr. Vallarino's son, Ethan, graduated from Millbrook in 2007.
