Millbrook collects and properly disposes of nearly a metric ton of trash and recyclables in honor of Earth Day.
Every day is like Earth Day at Millbrook where students, faculty, and staff recycle, hold green challenges, and maintain other green-friendly habits year round.
Earth Day at Millbrook is special in that the entire community takes the opportunity to engage in a community-wide effort to live our core value of environmental stewardship of the natural world all at once.
The community split up into groups and covered areas that stretched beyond our campus and along route 44 to pick up trash, curate our community garden, recycle recyclables, remove the invasive garlic mustard plants throughout campus, and engage in stream cleanup to help maintain our wetland buffer zone.
Millbrook also welcomed EcoMotion to campus where they shared their mission of "cost-effective greening of cities, corporations, and campuses." EcoMotion displayed a visual aid for their "SAVE A TON" campaign that provided a tangible image of a ton of CO2 emissions right on the Flagler Quad at the center of campus.
