Millbrook hosted Berkshire on Friday night and earned a solid 4-2 victory. Things started slowly for the mustangs, as Berkshire scored just nine seconds into the game. However, the girls kept their poise and played solid hockey the rest of the way. Meg Ahern started the scoring off a beautiful feed from Melissa Sheeran at the end of the first period. Millbrook then unleashed three goals in the second period, all by different scorers. Geneva Wagoner tallied the second goal on a rebound after Millbrook executed the forecheck perfectly. Melissa Sheeran netted a quick snap shot from the slot for the third goal, and Emily Even notched the fourth goal on a slap shot from outside the blue that was deflected past the unlucky Berkshire goalie. Berkshire managed a goal midway through the third, but it was a very strong defensive performance all around by Even, Neuburger, Lahey, and Boisvert. Berkshire only managed 4 shots in the second and 4 shots in the third. Morgan Moffat fought through illness valiantly and overcame the early goal to play another solid game in net.
