Summer at Millbrook Means Hot Turf and Cool Courts

Our girls lacrosse camp kicked off summer activities in June, and dance, squash and lacrosse camps brought many middle school- and high school-aged students to campus throughout July.
Summer has been buzzing with activity at Millbrook. Our girls lacrosse camp kicked off summer activities in June, and dance, squash and lacrosse camps brought many middle school- and high school-aged students to campus throughout July. August promises more of the same, as soccer camps kick into gear at the beginning of the month.

Millbrook squash camps have certainly contributed to the traffic down in the Mills Athletic Center, and the final of three squash sessions wrapped up the week of July 19th. Sixty plus campers enrolled from the Millbrook area ranging in age from 5 to 18 and in ability from first timers to high school varsity athletes. Highly qualified coaches worked to provide a rigorous learning environment for campers to improve their squash knowledge, skills and strategies while enjoying some good summer fun, both indoors and outdoors. In addition to honing their squash skills, kids played tennis, badminton, capture the flag, soccer, kickball, and more.

Millbrook’s beautiful 800-acre campus was also the perfect setting for overnight summer lacrosse programs, and two were hosted here in July. The first camp, held on July 10-14, was Bill Pilat’s The Goalie School. The premier instructional camp for goalies in the country in operation since 1990, The Goalie School opened at Millbrook with 100 goalies from across North America. Starting on Monday, July 19, Trilogy Lacrosse Camp came to Millbrook to work with campers on all lacrosse positions. During the two one-week camps (the second of which is running currently), Trilogy's world class staff emphasized the importance of being a good teammate and promoted the love of the game while helping to improve lacrosse skills.

Stay tuned for highlights from our soccer camp which begins August 3rd and is run by veteran soccer coach Rick McWilliams. If you're interested, but have not yet signed up, visit our camp page for more information.
