Boys Varsity Baseball Vs. Wildbraham
The Millbrook nine won in exciting fashion against Wilbraham on Saturday 10-9 by scoring 2 in the bottom of the 7th. After hitting several ball very hard in the 6th but coming up empty, we were able to push 2 across after some exceptional at-bats by Luke Stuckey ‘09(an 8 pitch walk) and Charlie Merrill ‘09 (a 7 pitch walk, to cap off a 2 for 3 day with 2 runs scored and 2 rbi). While we didn’t have a particularly good day on the mound, our pitchers made pitches when they had to in order to stem the bleeding. Also, a nice catch by Harrison Gostfrand ’11 in Center with the wind blowing over 20 MPH kept us close enough to rally in the 7th. Also, notable were 2 hit performances from John McCulla ’10, Tim Cooney ’11 and Augie Lehrecke ’10 who got our winning rally started with a single to right.
