Friday, January 9th was an evening dedicated to the musical arts at Millbrook as Music Arts Night took place in the Chelsea Morrison Theater. Students and faculty filled the auditorium, and performers took the stage to play and sing arrangements of a wide variety of songs.
Instrumental Ensemble kicked off the show playing several songs arranged by Steve Siktberg, the director of Instrumental Music, including a Nirvana medley and a "spy" medley featuring the Pink Panther. Next, singers performed solos and duets. Soloists included Sean Hong '09 singing

The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, Cameron Holbrook '11 on guitar, and Young Uk Kim '11 playing Chopin pieces on the piano. Duet performances included Kiara Huertas and Grace Fisher '11 singing

Color Purple), Kiara Huertas and Sean Hong singing
Written in the Stars (from
Aida), and Eliza Flood '10 and Sam Richards '11 singing
All I Ask of You (from
The Phantom of the Opera).
Millbrook Singers, an ensemble of students performing choral work, brought the evening to a close with a beautiful rendition of I'll Stand By You. Singers included sopranos Yoo Seon Hwang '11, Cara Frisina, Eliza Flood, Nell Burdis '10, Winston Boney '12, altos Kiara Huertas, Caroline McCarthy '10, Patricia McCarthy '11, Louise Steele-Norton '11, and tenors/bass Heath Harckham '11, Sam Richards, Brandon Pecchia '11, and Jamie Buckley '12.

Upcoming Arts performances include singers at the Martin Luther King celebration on Thursday, January 22, an acting class production in the Chelsea Morrison Theater on February 13, and a dance ensemble performance on February 26.
