Millbrook Vs. Canterbury

The only analogy I can think of that accurately depicts the Mustangs game versus Canterbury is this: have you ever awakened in the middle of the night with a pesky mosquito buzzing and whining around your head, and you keep smacking at it but never connect? That describes out game to a T: we dominated play, we contained 95% of their fast breaks, we earned 20 offensive corners and outshot Canterbury, but, like that pesky mosquito, we never hit the back of the net. Even after our 3rd overtime session this year and some exciting and skilled play by our intrepid overtime team, the game remained scoreless, 0-0. The team played well, not as brilliantly as against Williston, but a solid game, but Canterbury played dogged defense, kept their defensive end crowded and waited for fast break opportunities. Special kudos to Isabel Villeneuve who continues to play the best hockey of her life, as she not only faceguarded Canterbury's talented midfield attacker, but also provided some excellent punch on offense. Ferrari and Blundon played impressive midfield games and Anthony and Roxborough shined in overtime. Allie Ehrenreich proved again she is a capable and patient defender, waiting for the attacker to misplay the ball before going in for the tackle; Kelly played ferocious defense and also almost scored on a cross... a very exciting moment.
