Millbrook Drops Season Opener
The Millbrook Mustangs hosted GCDS for their season opener on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon.
The Mustangs came out strong in the first half, looking to implement what we have been working on in practice: playing it simple and possessing the ball. Despite GCDS finding the back of the net twice in the first half, the Mustangs played some good soccer.
The Mustangs started off the second half strong, holding the Tigers for a bit before letting in the last few goals.
Shout outs to midfielders Ashley Rodgers and Natalia Danyluk and defenders Jill Smith and Mary LaFond for their hard work today. Rodgers was fearless and relentless in the middle, Danyluk ran miles to be part of both the offense and defense, and Smith and LaFond both were strong in the back line in their Millbrook debuts.
Millbrook looks to regroup in practice later this week. We welcome St. Luke’s on Saturday for another home game.
