A chilly spring day was made warmer by the play of the girls. Leading the way was Captain Caroline Reilly who won again in impressive fashion 6-1,6-1. Louise Lynn stepped up as well, playing #4 singles, and winning 6-0, 6-1. Ena Cheng faced a tough hard hitting opponent who was also quite consistent and lost 1-6, 2-6. Emily Le played many long points at #3, but, in her usual gritty way, found a way to win 6-3, 6-3. Thus we had a commanding 3-1 lead heading into the doubles. Due to an illness to Co-Capt. Laura Toland, the doubles pairs all had to move up. And they stepped up. Nandigame and MacLear at #1, and Simon and Reid at #2 both won their first sets convincingly. However, they fell behind in the second sets before coming roaring back to earn the straight set victories. A new pairing at #3 saw Lillie Marcos and Gracie Filler fall behind in both sets before they also mounted impressive comebacks. In all, we continue to get better at every facet of the game and look forward to hosting Westover on Saturday.
