Mustangs Get Parents Weekend Victory in Exciting Fashion
The Millbrook Varsity Field Hockey team pulled off an exciting 1-0 win on Parents Weekend when Chloe Robinson '19 dove at the right post to score the game-winner over Westover. Millbrook came out strong and dominated the first half, spending almost the whole period on Westover's end. However, the Mustangs couldn't do anything inside the circle and the half ended at 0-0. To Westover's credit, they came out ready to go in the second and caught Millbrook off guard. Then Millbrook upped its level and took control for the last 10 minutes, peppering the Westover defense with hard passes and shots. The Mustangs finally broke through when Tess Toland '17 slammed a free hit from outside the 25 into the circle, where Heidi Reiss '16 sent it across the cage so Robinson could knock it home. Westover had once last chance to tie it up, but keeper Patricia Smith '17 had a nice save off her blocker to seal the win for Millbrook. After long weekend, the Mustangs head to Ethel Walker.
