Sacred Heart Beats Millbrook, 2-0

The Millbrook Varsity Field Hockey team suffered a tough 0-2 loss to Sacred Heart on Saturday afternoon. The Mustangs played with heart and hustle and just couldn’t get the bounces to go their way. Despite even play, Sacred Heart was able to convert their chances in the circle (once at the end of the first half, once at the end of the second) while Millbrook could not. The Mustangs made some really good halftime adjustments and started using small stick-to-stick passes in the second, thanks to some strong play in the midfield from Ava Quartararo ’18, Siena Buffa ’16, Leah Fuld ’17, and Riley Croghan ’18. Patricia Smith ‘17 had yet another fine game in goal, notching 11 saves. The Mustangs will travel twice next week—to St. Luke’s on Wednesday and Suffield on Saturday.
