The Millbrook Varsity Field Hockey team lost 5-1 to Ethel Walker on Wednesday afternoon. The Mustangs were a bit flat-footed after the long bus ride there, and EW took advantage with a quick goal just a few minutes into the contest. Right around the 15-10 minute mark in the first half, EW scored a flurry of goals for a 4-0 lead at the half. Millbrook had its chances, but couldn't manage to convert even after getting the ball in EW's circle. However, Millbrook dug deep and fought even harder in the second half, threatening to score countless times before Chloe Robinson '19 finally knocked home a ball from Heidi Reiss '16. The Mustangs did not give in and played hard through the final whistle. Patricia Smith '17 came up huge in goal for Millbrook with 13 saves, including nine particularly acrobatic saves in the second half. The Mustangs will travel to Cheshire on Saturday for a late game under the lights.
