The Millbrook Varsity Field Hockey team played its second intense game of the week, tying Suffield 2-2 after a 10 minute overtime period. Ellie Muckstadt '18 started off the scoring in the first, knocking the ball past the goalie off a rebound, and the Mustangs led 1-0 at the half. In the second, Millbrook added to its lead with perhaps the prettiest goal the team has scored all season; Laura Toland '17 took a free hit on the right side and cannily passed it back to Jill Koop '16, and the team swung it all the way around the back and up to the left wing, where Muckstadt crossed the ball to Chloe Robinson '19 on the right post, and Robinson slammed home a pretty sweep for the 2-0 lead. However, Suffield clawed back into the game and added two of their own in the second, so the two squads went into 7-v-7 overtime. The added space made the 10 minutes of overtime a back-and-forth affair, but neither team managed to break through, and the tightly contested ended in a 2-2 tie. Keeper Patricia Smith '17 played well and notched 10 saves, half of which were in OT. Millbrook will host Gunnery on Wednesday.
