Two Mustangs signed letters of intent with Division I collegiate teams today. David Bottenberg ’16 will be playing basketball for South Carolina State University, and Connor Morrisroe ’16 will be playing baseball for SUNY Albany.
During their time at Millbrook both Bottenberg and Morrisroe have proven to be exceptional athletes.
“David has put in the work and is now reaping the first of many rewards,” says boys varsity basketball coach Billy Thom. “We are excited to see him continue to grow.”
David's commitment to South Carolina State University marks the second consecutive Division l commitment for the Millbrook boys varsity basketball program, with Will Rayman ’15 committing to Colgate at the conclusion of the 2014-2015 season.
Morrisroe came to Millbrook as a post-graduate looking for time to mature as a pitcher, which is a goal that he certainly accomplished during his year as a Mustang. His ability to command three pitches on the mound allow him to
dictate at-bats and challenge opposing hitters.
“In addition to his impressive skills on the mound, Connor is an indispensable team leader. His passion for baseball and his teammates is evident in his every movement on the field,” says coach boys varsity baseball coach Robb Arndt.
It is certain that both Bottenberg and Morrisroe have bright academic and athletic futures at their respective institutions. We are proud of our Mustangs and excited to follow their successes at the collegiate level.
