#3rds Soccer Improves to 2 and 0

The Thirds soccer team improved their record to 2-0 against Gunnery.  Scoring began early when, in the first minute, Trevor Liefer floated a chip over the Gunnery keeper from the right wing.  The lone defensive breakdown came 6 minutes later when, on an attempted clear, the ball ricocheted off a Gunnery player and found the back of the net.  The Mustangs went into the half up 2-1 after Spencer Rundquist netted his first of the season off a pretty passing combination fron Danny Maltz and Eddie Castillo.  The Millbrook squad dominated possession and peppered the Gunnery goalminder and broke through in the 52nd minute with their third when Chuck Goldstein scored his second of the year on a beautiful 20 yard looping shot.  Liefer closed out the scoring in the 59th minute, capitalizing on a Maltz cross that rebounded off the goalie.  The Mustang defense, anchored by Zach Keller-Coffey, proved themselves to be a stout opponent and kept Gunnery scoreless in the second half.
