Millbrook 0 - Canterbury 0

Millbrook and Canterbury skated to a 0-0 tie this afternoon in a high-tempo, cleanly played match that had all the entertainment in the world apart from goals!  Millbrook had the decided edge in shots, and perhaps one or two more truly dangerous opportunities, but the game went both ways, with both goalies in top form.  Melissa Rome never looked like giving up a goal other than a deflection or a rebound, and Sarah Sokol at the other end was beaten only once when Allanah Roopchand could not quite redirect a beautiful two-on-one pass across the crease from Olivia Farrell.  With about three minutes to play, Kelly Fallon got another great pass on the far post and popped it into the net -- or so she thought before Sokol came across to pick it with one of the best saves in Bontecou Rink this season.  Overtime was relatively uneventful and both teams left the ice a bit unsatisfied but knowing they had played hard and well for most of the 45 minutes.  Having now suffered back-to-back shutouts, Millbrook will have to find a way to the net, with yet another terrific goalie ahead on Saturday at G.A.
