Dissapointing loss in the boys' 2nd half home opener
After having their game vs. Hotchkiss on Saturday being canceled, the
boys were ready to get back on the ice after a rough tournament at
Belmont Hill School over the winter break. There aren't many words that
can describe this game, you had to be there. The score doesn't reflect
the intensity that this game contained. Jamie MacMillian (09') stopped
god only knows how many shots, as the boys were on the PK for much of
the game. It was rough enough that the team had two guys out for
fighting suspensions from the previous game against St. Francis at the
BHS tourney. Having over 20 penalties,
it was a PP/PK struggle for most of the game. South Kent had at least
15 penalties as well, and there was a lot of pond hockey out there. (3
on 3) Slashing, Tripping, Roughing, Interference, you name it, it was
called. A couple of double minors as well (4 min.) and at least one 2
& 10. It was a battle-filled game, and they fought hard, never gave
up, and stayed as positive as possible. We all look forward to a better
game on Saturday 1/12 @ Pomfret. The team gets all week off to practice
and get their heads straight. Wish em' luck
