'Stangs go 1 and 1 in first tri-match of 2024

Millbrook opened Saturday's tri-match against a talented Delbarton squad.  Evens played first and although all played solid squash, all but #6 Jack Nestler fell in 3.  Jack lost his first game 12-14 and the second 8-11 before showcasing his athleticism and indefatigable work ethic to notch a game 19-17.  Both players left the court red in the face and tired.  Jack came back out for the fourth energized and ready to play but couldn't consistently take control of the T.  It was 6-11 in the fourth but he'd managed to prove that Delbarton wasn't invincible.  The odds took the courts next and both our #3 Jackson Colman and #7 Cooper McGuire managed to push their Delbarton opponents.  Jackson won his second game and looked like he might force a fifth game late in the fourth at 10 all but ultimately fell 10-12.  At the #7 position, Cooper McGuire continues to showcase meteoric improvement.  After dropping the first game, Cooper won the next two games with great depth and simple shot-making.  His opponent forced a fifth game but Cooper showed the mental fortitude to close out the match with a solid 11-7 win.  He notched our only win but overall, the team felt proud of their performance.

In our second match, Millbrook earned its first victory of the season with a 7-0 win against Canterbury.
