NAIS AIM Survey

There is a particular phrase in our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) mission that states,
"We must, therefore, equip our community with the language and skills necessary for honest inquiry and discussion as we empower ourselves to be ethical citizens at Millbrook School and beyond."
In keeping our promise and commitment to this work, we have embarked on a journey to complete the National Association of Independent School's Assessment of Inclusivity and Multiculturalism, otherwise known as NAIS AIM.

Our survey was concluded among students, faculty, and alumni in 2022, and we will share the results and next steps shortly.

For over ten years, AIM has been a resource for independent school communities that prioritize their reputation and growth in DEI. It has provided schools with a deep understanding of the climate of inclusion and multiculturalism on their campuses. With AIM, we will receive a thorough evaluation of where we currently stand in the areas of diversity, multiculturalism, equity, and justice. AIM will also assist in planning strategic initiatives to sustain Millbrook's commitment and dedication to an inclusive community.

AIM Steering Committee

We are fortunate to have a steering committee comprised of a diverse group of board members, alumni, parents, faculty, and students who will help us navigate the AIM process and a strategy for making change once it is complete.

Steering committee members include:
Prince Botchway (director, DEI), Darcie Crystal P '24, Chris Diaz '23, Kathleen Dill '85 (trustee), Rev. Cam Hardy (chaplain), Kathy Havard (English teacher), Steven Lewis '04, JJ Morrissey (dean of students), Dang Phan P '22, Jasper Turner (dean of faculty), and Mikayla Vitiello '23.
