Welcome Stanley!

The Trevor Zoo is thrilled to welcome Stanley, a Canada lynx who came to us from the Seneca Park Zoo in Rochester, NY and is now enjoying his new home in our former bobcat habitat.

Stanley was born on June 2nd, 2022, to parents Bianca and Gretzky, named for hockey great Wayne Gretzky. As the winner of four Stanley Cups, the name Stanley seemed to be a great fit.

Canada lynx are one of four lynx species, including Eurasian lynx, Iberian lynx and bobcats. In the wild the Canada lynx feeds almost exclusively on the snowshoe hare and its population is highly dependent on the population of this prey animal. The Canada lynx population grows apace with hare population and if the hares are scarce, the lynx will seek greater hare populations and limit family size.

Stanley is looking forward to greeting you on your next visit to the Trevor Zoo, open every day of the year from 9 am to 5 pm.
