Millbrook hosts JV invitational
50 runners from Rumsey Hall, Indian Mountain School, and Dutchess Day School joined Millbrook runners to compete on a modified 2.6 mile course on a glorious Millbrook afternoon.
Millbrook's varsity runners spread out over the course to direct and cheer our guests from neighboring middle schools as they competed on Millbrook's legendarily tough course. Impressive running by both the Indian Mountain and Rumsey Hall squads resulted in a dead heat - 37-37, with IMS capturing the 1st and 4th spots, and a powerful Rumsey pack finishing 5th - 8th. Millbrook coaches called up the top 10 finishers and awarded pumpkins to the top three: Will Vollmer of DDS in 3rd, first year runner Luke Sosnow of Millbrook in 2nd, and Miki Barrant of Indian Mountain School in 1st, in an exceptional time of 15:31. Special shout out to Margaret Marcum of IMS as the first female finisher, in 18:54. All indulged in cider and donuts, and a few teams made a quick tour of the Trevor Zoo before heading home. Fabulous day for running!
