The team joined Salisbury School and Frederick Gunn School at Salisbury for the inaugural race on a new course—and what a race it was! The rain picked up just as the runners headed out to the starting line. A slip at the top of the first downhill dip toppled runners like bowling pins—Millbrook's own Jack Evan's among them. Evans recovered quickly and pushed ahead, making his way through the mud to the front of the pack. With the leader runner often just out of sight and no one close behind, Jack raced alone through the wind and rain to a second-place finish overall, between two Salisbury runners. Luke Sosnow broke through at the half mile and fought hard to maintain his position among the top five runners. As the raced progressed, the runner behind Sosnow lost ground, and Sosnow made gains. In a spirited final push, he chased a Gunn runner up the final hill and finished 5th. The other three Millbrook runners to score on the soggy afternoon were George Wilkins (20th place), Marvin Sun (27th place), and Roy Ahn (29th place).
