2023 College Placements

Members of Millbrook’s Class of 2023 will be fanning out to 60 prestigious colleges and universities across the country and around the world this fall. The increasingly competitive nature of the college admission process has been felt acutely across all secondary schools. Millbrook’s successful placement of so many graduates at their top-choice schools is evidence of the hard work of members of the College Counseling Office, led by Shannon Vollmer. “Our process allows students to be both aspirational and realistic, ultimately leading them to their best-fit school,” said Shannon. “Millbrook’s college search and application process is a result of years of intentional work by students, including weekly classes, one-on-one meetings, workshops, and more,” she continued. “Even in this highly competitive college admissions landscape, our students are finding their way to the schools they most aspire to attend.”

College counselors are assigned a caseload of roughly 30 students with whom they work beginning with basics in the IIIrd form and ramping up to application deadlines in their VIth form year. Over the years, counselors truly get to know their students and can help them make good choices that can take them to the next level of their education while exploring opportunities along the way.
