Mustangs Win Home Opener 12-1 Over Kent

The Millbrook Varsity Softball team beat Kent 12-1 on a chilly Wednesday afternoon to win its first home game of the season. Millbrook jumped out to a 3-1 lead after the first and scored in every inning. The Mustangs really got things going in the fourth, when Riley Croghan '18 singled, Helene Apollon '19 brought her home on a triple to the fence, and Kelly Phan '18 doubled to score Apollon. In the next inning, Croghan tripled home Emma Gotthelf '19 and Jessie Foote '18 to end the game. Alyssa McLeod '19 also had an RBI. Croghan pitched five innings, struck out 10 with no walks, and did not allow a ball to be hit out of the infield. The Mustangs will host St. Luke's in a rematch of last year's championship game on Saturday.
