Trevor Zoo Office Assistant, Part-time

The Trevor Zoo office assistant will report to the zoo director and director of programs at the zoo and will be responsible for providing general administrative support for the zoo office.
This is a part-time, hourly position. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Answering phone calls in a friendly & professional manner.
  • Performing data entry duties and providing administrative support for the zoo administrative team.
  • Processing paperwork, purchase orders, check requests, make copies, file, etc.
  • Maintaining an organized office and filing system for the Trevor Zoo administrative office.
  • Attending department meetings and assisting in keeping minutes of those meetings.
  • Assisting the director of programs with scheduling groups.
  • Assisting in handling Trevor Zoo mail and packages.
  • Ordering and monitoring the inventory of zoo supplies.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:
  • One year of administrative assistant experience required.
  • A two-year degree is preferred but not necessary.
  • Must possess current valid driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle history.
  • Strong computer skills, including Google Calendar, Microsoft office (Word/ Excel) and Adobe and the ability to learn technology.
  • Must be efficient, detail oriented, and have strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work independently but also work as part of a team.
  • Must exhibit good time management skills.
  • Must use sound judgement and maintain confidentiality.
  • Must have clear oral and written communications.
  • Must be willing to work in a group office setting.

  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

    Must be able to work in person, on campus.
  • Must be proficient in the composition of written communication.
Physical & Sensory Requirements (with or without the aid of a mechanic device)
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
  • Must function independently.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc., up to 30 pounds without restrictions.
The salary range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00 per hour. When determining placement in the salary range, Millbrook School considers factors including, but not limited to, work experience, education, training, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
