An independent school veteran, Jonathan Howe has over 20 years of teaching experience. As the
Science Department chair, he ensures students take full advantage of all the unique natural resources the Millbrook School has to offer: an 800-acre campus filled with forests and marshland, and the
AZA-accredited Trevor-Lovejoy Zoo.
Jonathan holds a bachelor’s in ecology and evolutionary biology from Princeton University and a master’s in environmental studies from the University of Pennsylvania. He taught at independent schools in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania before moving to the Hudson Valley, where he taught at Poughkeepsie Day School, Indian Mountain School, and Dutchess Day School before joining Millbrook in 2022.
He works to inspire curiosity in students, encouraging them to be present and share their experiences with others.
