The Millbrook Varsity Field Hockey team continued its win streak with a 1-0 victory in overtime at Emma Willard on Saturday. The Mustangs co-captains, Sarah Anthony '12 and Eliza Chapman '12, teamed up on the game-winning goal. Millbrook earned a penalty corner, and Heather Neuburger '13 injected the ball to Chapman, who passed it to Anthony. Anthony sent a low rocket to the far corner of the cage to give the Mustangs the hard-fought win. The whole game was back-and-forth, and the overtime period was no exception. Keeper A.B. Fuscone '12 was forced to make several acrobatic saves to preserve the shutout. Fuscone ended with 13 saves on the afternoon. All seven members of the overtime squad--Chapman, Anthony, Fuscone, Neuburger, Amelia Woods '13, Maddie Schmalz '13, and Caroline Whalen '14--played every minute of regulation as well. Paige Landesberg '12, who had not played since preseason due to two broken fingers she suffered at the Greenwich Playday, was a welcome sight finally back on the field. As in the OT win at Kent, the Millbrook bench was raucous and really helped the team get the win--as did Eleanor Sednaoui's ('13) rousing speech just before the start of OT. It was truly a team victory.
