Millbrook Earns 2-0 Parents Weekend Win over Westover

The Millbrook Varsity Field Hockey team beat Westover, 2-0 on a breezy Parents Weekend Saturday. The Mustangs dominated play the whole game, out-shooting Westover by a wide margin. Despite the plethora of chances, however, Millbrook wasn't able to get on the scoreboard until just seconds before halftime. A determined Amelia Woods '13 collected her own rebound and kept shooting at the goalie until she was finally able to put the ball in. Westover had a few chances during the second half--though play was almost entirely on Millbrook's attacking end, Westover was able to get a few breakaway opportunities that were rebuffed by keeper A.B. Fuscone '12 (who earned her second shutout of the year). Millbrook essentially put the game away, however, when the Schmalz sisters teamed up for a goal yet again. This time Maddie '13 scored off of an assist from Kayla '14. It was a nice win for the Mustangs and a good way to head into the long weekend.
