Millbrook 1 -- Hotchkiss 2

Millbrook's losing streak reached five games against a tough Hotchkiss team that kept the pressure on the hosts from start to finish.  The first period was back-and-forth, with Millbrook edging the Bearcats in scoring chances, but when Alexa de la Guardia put one off the crossbar midway through the period, it looked as though it might be another luckless afternoon for the Mustangs.  Then, with 54 seconds left, Hotchkiss scored what looked to be a killer last-minute goal to further deflate the home sails.  Fifteen seconds later, though, Meg Ahern had the puck in the back of the net off a scramble in front of the net with linemates Allanah Roopchand and Olivia Farrell and it was game on.  Hotchkiss held the shooting edge over the next two periods, though, and while Melissa Rome held off challenge after challenge, she was not able to stop Caitlin Cataldo, who was allowed to walk out from behind the net unchallenged midway through the second.  It was one of only a few defensive mistakes on the day as blueliners Emma Hart, Rachel DeSimone, Ema Waldschmidt and Molly Chapman all had strong games.
