Millbrook 0 vs. Greenwich Academy 1

Millbrook lost to Greenwich Academy 1-0 in agonizing fashion, in what turned out to be a battle of netminders where only a great shot or a quirk would likely make the difference. Unfortunately for the hosts, the quirk went GA's way when a seemingly harmless shot found its way through the otherwise impeccable Melissa Rome for the game-winner early in the third period.  At the other end, the Mustangs poured on the pressure with several breakaways and goal-mouth pile-ups.  The outstanding Alexa Pujol had little difficulty stopping the best of Millbrook's first shots, though, and while the hosts created several rebound opportunities, they never got the bounce they needed to convert.  The third period was an odd one for both teams, as the ice never settled and players had difficulty controlling the puck, but the first two periods were fast and entertaining as Millbrook repeatedly attacked the net at one end and GA countered consistently well at the other.  The hosts had the edge in speed, and the visitors had the edge in tenacity, and it made for an exciting afternoon for the many Winter Weekend fans.
