Canterbury visited
Millbrook to battle in a competitive, league game. Jamie MacMillan started in
goal for Millbrook. In the first period, Millbrook scored a short handed goal
on a 2 on 1 break up the ice. Mat Dubuc ’09 scored off of a pass from
Evan Haney ’09. At the end of the period, the score was 1-0 and the shots
were 7-6 in favor of Canterbury. It
was a good defensive period for both teams. Canterbury
scored the lone goal in the second, tying the score at 1. Millbrook had 5 shots
in the second period to Canterbury's
11. The third period was a good one to watch. Canterbury
scored first, and with about 2 and a half minutes remaining in regulation, Joe
Theriault ’08 scored to force overtime. With about 3 minutes to go in OT,
Canterbury scored, putting the game
away. The final score was 3-2 and the final shot count was 24 to 20 in Canterbury’s
favor. Although it was a difficult loss for the Mustangs, it was an exciting,
well balanced and hard fought battle that unfortunately didn't go Millbrook's
way. Millbrook’s next game is against Williston Northampton at 3:30 at Millbrook.
