English Instructor

Millbrook School seeks a full-time English teacher beginning in the fall of 2025. Millbrook’s English Department emphasizes skill development and serious engagement with literature through the practice of critical reading, analytical and creative writing, and discussion. 
Candidates must be prepared to teach students of all high school age levels and should be able to teach American literature and other courses, including senior electives. We seek educators who value creating inclusive classrooms and curricula and who are committed to their continued growth as educators.

Prior teaching experience is preferred. B.A. in English or a related field is required. Coaching and teaching experience is preferred. In addition to teaching four sections, this position includes coaching or supervising an afternoon program for two out of three seasons, serving as an advisor for up to six students.

Full-time faculty members are also expected to participate in community service, evening responsibilities, activities, assemblies, and required meetings and workshops. The primary goal of a teaching faculty member is to ensure that each student achieves the highest potential possibleHousing may be provided, which would bring with it residential life duties. Energy for adolescents, adaptability, humor, and integrity are the hallmarks of Millbrook's faculty.

The salary range for this teaching position is $41,000 - $90,000. When determining placement in the salary range, Millbrook School considers total teaching experience, number of years working at Millbrook School, and other factors permitted by law.
