Millbrook Student-Athletes Commit to D1 Colleges

Aaron Moroney '12, T.J. Sanders '12, and Alex Wichmann '12 have signed their letters of intent to join the colleges of their choice – Towson, Penn State, and Southern Connecticut State respectively.
Sanders and Moroney will be playing lacrosse at the collegiate level next year. Boys varsity lacrosse coach Dave Mullen praises his college bound athletes. “TJ has been a force for us. His game has evolved, and he has grown as a player and competitor. TJ jump-started our program as much as a single player could. I'm proud of TJ for wanting to have a similar impact at Penn State and help the growth of that program. And Aaron is a player and a coach. We rely on him to neutralize our opponents' top player. He will take a lot of the good habits he has learned at Millbrook, both on and off the field, with him to Towson." Assistant varsity lacrosse coach Tom Spinella adds, "Aaron's leadership on the defensive side of the field has allowed his teammates to understand the real meaning of being part of a team. With his drive and relentless will to never quit, he helped lead the team to a league championship last season."
Alex Wichmann is equally impressive in his sport - baseball. Named one of 300 Under Armour Preseason All Americans in 2011, he traveled to Tuscon, Arizona in January to play in the All American showcase there. A 20-team wood bat tournament, regional teams competed for the Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament championship. Alex also earned the respect of Western New England coaches and was named to the first team all-league in the Western New England Prep School Baseball League.
We look forward to following their successes in school on their college teams next year, and even more so, we look forward with great anticipation to outstanding spring seasons for these athletes in their final year at Millbrook!
