Tough Break for Millbrook

On Saturday, Millbrook traveled 3 hours to The Winchendon School in Massachusetts. Coming off of a tough loss, Millbrook seemed ready to play a good Winchendon team. In the first period, Tim Cooney ’11 started for Millbrook. Winchendon scored two goals in the first half of the period. Then Mat Dubuc ’09 scored one for Millbrook. Even though we out shot Winchendon 12-10 in the first period, they led 2-1. Winchendon scored two more goals in the second period, and Will Lee ’10 scored for Millbrook. At the end of the second the score was 4-2 in favor of Winchendon, and the shot count was 22-20 also in favor of Winchendon. In the third period, the only goal scored was a power play goal at the end of the game. The final score was 5-2, and Winchendon had 30 shots to Millbrook 26. For next game, Millbrook needs to work on the penalty kill, since three of the goals scored were power play goals. They also need to stay out of the penalty box. Millbrook recorded 14 penalties. It’s hard to win a game with that many penalties. Next game will be held at Millbrook, at 4:30 on Monday January 26th against Canterbury.
