The Martlets of Wesminster took advantage of a few key mistakes, scoring 4 goals in a span of 4 minutes and 43 seconds to beat the Millbrook Mustangs 5-1. After a scoreless first period Millbrook seemed to have had the momentum in the second when junior Zach Vit ’08 buried the games first tally with his brother, Captain Taylor Vit ’07, recording the assist. Westminster answered right back scoring a flurry of goals and capping off their 5th unanswered goal with 5 minutes left in the second. The third period was another scoreless battle as Millbrook tried to close the gap with a few scoring opportunities of their own, but the solid defense and goaltending of Westminster proved too much. Mike McDonald ’08 finished with 36 saves in net for Millbrook who faces off against Gunnery on Wednesday in League play.
