A fine day at Millbrook as we hosted a really solid Berkshire team. The matches were all pretty tight. Maggie battled but lost 3–4, and Catherine started a comeback in the second that fell short. Sophie held serve to win the first set 6–4, but her able opponent upped her game to force a deciding tiebreaker that did not go our way. Ireland secured the day's only win in a hard-fought back-and-forth affair, 6–4, 6–4. Ella served up four aces but eventually lost in straight sets. Inside, the doubles were exciting. Estee and Vivian suffered their first loss of the season. Lucy and Emelia won the first set tiebreaker, fell behind 2–5 in the second, battled back to 4–5, and then lost that set 4–6. The deciding tiebreaker, sadly, did not go our way. After dropping the first 1–6, Lily and Bea battled to force a second-set tiebreak. At 3–3, the Berkshire duo hit some great shots, and the comeback fell short. I'm so proud of how we competed today; it will serve us well in the matches to come and the postseason.
