The Millbrook Mustangs hosted Miss Hall’s on Friday afternoon.
After a prolonged warm-up, the Mustangs took a bit to fully find their footing. After spotting Miss Hall’s a run in the top of the first inning, Jazmin Mejia ‘25 got things started with good contact and good baserunning to score on an inside-the-park home run. Hailey Malmgren ‘25 and Abby Hylan ‘25 then worked walks to get on base for a two-RBI hit from Hailey Mesard ‘25. Millbrook had the 3–1 lead going into the second inning.
The second inning and the top of the third inning saw Miss Hall’s and Millbrook trade quick outs.
Millbrook then tallied more runs in the bottom of the third with an RBI from Jaicee Downs ‘26 to score Mejia, a triple from Mesard to score Malmgren, an RBI single from Arhi Fernandes ‘25 to score Mesard, and a triple from Abby Ruggles ‘26 to score Fernandes.
The top of the fourth inning saw a quick 1-2-3 from the Millbrook defense. Millbrook then took that momentum into the bottom of the fourth to score the final eight runs. Malmgren had an RBI hit to score Mejia (reached on a walk). Downs (reached on a hit) and Malmgren scored on passed balls. Mesard hit another triple, this time scoring Hylan (reached on a walk), and then had heads-up baserunning to score. Matea Podgursky ‘25 came in as a pinch hitter and got on base with a hit, followed by Sabrina Chu ‘25 working a walk as a pinch hitter to set the stage for Mejia’s two-RBI triple and heads-up baserunning of her own to end the game.
This was the third game of the week and the third win for the Mustangs.
