Millbrook walks away with Medalist, tie, win and loss at Kent

Millbrook opened its golf season this afternoon with a tri-match against Kent, Canterbury and Chase at Kent's home course Bulls Bridge. Kent won the match with a solid 223, while Millbrook and Canterbury tied with a 229 (the tie-breaker would have gone to Canterbury) and Chase 251.

In his first match for Millbrook Sam Lawson-Johnston fired a smooth 40 on the back nine at Bulls Bridge, and was the medalist (low round) of the match. Harrison Grymes tied for second with a 41. After being 5 over on the first 5 holes, Harrison regrouped and played very well coming home, exactly what we want out of our senior captain. Tommy Nolan and Ken Eger were also playing in their first matches and shot respectable scores of 49 each. We hope to improve on these in the coming matches. Tyler Flatau rounded out our low 5 with a 50 and Andrew Reis shot 55.

It was a good start to the season for Millbrook. There were clearly a few strokes left out on the course, but it was a cold and gray day to start playing golf and our guys did well to keep it together.
