Millbrook vs. Rye Country Day

The Millbrook Mustangs played Rye Country day on a cool Saturday afternoon. Millbrook jumped out to an early lead with goals by Will Benjamin 09’ collecting the first goal of the game from senior captain Nick Weaver. Weaver found the back of the net next for one of his team high six points on the day. The tandem of Will Benjamin 09’ and Lynn Harrington 08’ paced the tempo of the game by winning 16 out of 19 face off’s. Additional offensive scoring came from junior attackman Beau Parent who had 2 goals and 1 assist on the day.

Millbrook had a 7-1 lead but struggled in the second half and gave
Rye an opportunity to come back in the contest. Millbrook found a way to stop the bleeding time and time again after finding themselves in the penalty box for most of the second half. Junior Goalie Chris Bennett stopped 14 shots on the afternoon most of the time playing with two and sometimes three men down.

In the end, Millbrook pulled out the victory and took their record to 9-3 on the season. The Mustangs will take to the road on Wednesday when the travel to
Massachusetts to take on D II rival Williston-Northampton School.
