Millbrook School strongly believes that a total education at the secondary level involves an interscholastic team experience.
On the junior varsity or thirds level of interscholastic competition, all Millbrook students enjoy the opportunity to compete every season. While the values of winning and losing are important in the lower-level programs at Millbrook, developmental concerns and participation are paramount to the student athlete’s experience. Coaches are cognizant of playing time for as many team members as possible. Coaches are also focused on not only the overall team experience but the young individual and developing athlete.
Every Millbrook student gets the opportunity to play on an interscholastic team. For most of these student-athletes, secondary school might be their last interscholastic experience, but not their last athletic enjoyment.
Ms. Morgan coaches both JV Girls Lacrosse and Varsity Girls Squash at
Millbrook and has done so for four seasons, including 2006-2007. She
thoroughly enjoys watching players develop throughout the season,
gaining both skills and confidence. Her interactions with the athletes
are the best part of the job for her - getting to know them outside of
the classroom, seeing them work together as a team, making new friends,
and creating bonds that last well past the end of the season.
Ms.
Morgan brings her own high school lacrosse experience to her coaching,
having played for four years at Milton Academy. In college, her sport
of choice was squash, and she became an accomplished player. She played
Division 1 squash at Connecticut College and captained the squash team
her senior year. While at Connecticut College she also played in the
team National Championships her sophomore, junior, and senior years,
winning Division C her juinior year and finishing runner-up her senior
year. She continued playing competitive squash in graduate school for
the University of St. Andrews.
Ms. Morgan has a level 1 squash coaches certification from the United States Squash Raquets Association.
