On the strength of Erin Doerrsam's strong goaltending and a Mary Rose Morrison power-play goal (on assists from Kelly Fallon and Ema Waldschmidt) late in the third, Millbrook found itself in the exciting position of having a face-off in Gunnery's end with 14 seconds left and a 6 on 4 skating advantage. In the scramle that ensued, the puck came out from the corner in front of the net, but there was no shooter in the right spot and the puck drifted all the way out of the zone to end a dramatic contest in the visitors' favor. The Highlanders deserved the win, forechecking well and killing penalties with ease until the late flurry, but Millbrook created some dangerous counterattacks as well, and the fans got their money's worth. The last five minutes were end-to-end, with pucks off posts and open nets just missed, but at the final whistle it was back-to-back one-goal losses for the Mustangs, and the sixth such result of the season. It was frustrating to be sure, but encouraging for the hosts to have Louise Steele-Norton back on the ice after a month on the injury list!
